Cassville, GA – Congressional candidate and former State Senator Barry Loudermilk today announced that Holly Springs Mayor Tim Downing has endorsed Barry’s campaign.

“Mayor Downing is a great leader in our community and a terrific person,” Barry said. “I’m really honored that he has joined our team and I know he is going to be a big help to us moving forward.”

“Barry Loudermilk has a full understanding of our Constitution and how this document was supposed to shape our state and federal government over time,” Downing said. “As a result, Senator Loudermilk is in a unique position to bring this understanding to Washington to help other constitutionalists in Congress get our nation back on track to greatness. This is why I proudly endorse Barry Loudermilk to represent us in the United States Congress.”

Biography of Mayor Downing

Timothy Downing was elected to a four year term after serving an appointed six month term in 2004. The Mayor is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having completed a four year tour of duty onboard a Navy vessel and is currently a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputy.

Mayor Downing is active in a number of civic and community roles, including a board member for the Cherokee County Development Authority, member of the citizens round table for the Cherokee County Comprehensive Plan Update, and member of the Metro Atlanta Mayors Association to name a few.

Prior to being elected Mayor, Downing served one term as a Holly Springs Councilman during which time the city achieved the highly sought after Livable Centers Initiative Grant in order to revitalize the downtown area. Downing, his wife Sandra, and two children have lived in Holly Springs since 1999.
